Lilja 4-ever (2002)

"In the former Soviet Union, sixteen year old Lilja (Oksana Akinshina) is very happy, because her mother is moving to the USA with her boyfriend. However, Lilja is left alone, without money or family in a very poor apartment. She spends her time with her only friend, the rejected boy Volodya (Artyom Bogucharsky). Lilja begins to prostitute in a nightclub to survive, and she meets a young man, Andrei (Pavel Ponomaryov), who seduces her and invites Lilja to move with him to Sweden with a promise of a job and lodging. When she arrives in Sweden, reality is not exactly as dreamed." -imdb.com

Deeply saddening. How people exploit vulnerable innocent children with insincere kindness. It may be a good idea if this film is shown in schools to students of a appropriate age. I think parents may learn from this as well. The highlighted poverty both emotional and material add to the disparate plight of the innocent. Maybe it is society that allows this apathy and an environment where creativity and hope dies. It seems this bleakness is allowed to develop at a cost societies as we saw in the film if you had a job or regular parents you lived in a different reality. People on the margins need to be recognised and supported.

Really Good movie and story. I happens every day in this world and it shall keep on. But this story give us hope if we do (whatever)with attention of good God will help us.
Please, rich people and rich couriers stop buying the innocents with burger and showing them luxuries. Please stop it.

Truly a realistic and moving motion picture. Hate to to say that it truly captures the reality of this cold and cruel world. I felt deeply contected to the characters in the movie. Would be an excellent movie for teenagers, maybe they wont make the same mistakes.

Damn! That was depressing - but real too. What are we to do with this? I'm not sure I have the answer. Think somehow the answer's with the man upstairs! I'd love to think like in Lilya 4-ever that there is an afterlife which is better than here.
I believe everyone has a soul. I'd love to believe that whatever reality we are born into that we find Heaven and God our creator eventually.
Peace and Love!
