Dispatches - Is Torture A Good Idea? (2005)

"Clive Stafford Smith is a British lawyer who has represented American prisoners on Death Row and, more recently, detainees in Guantanamo Bay. In this programme, he reveals the abuses suffered by Guantanamo detainees and talks to experts in the field of torture, including CIA and US Army veterans. The programme examines cases of false confessions extracted under torture, suggesting that torture is useless as well as being repugnant and illegal."

Like the documentary said, most of these people are innocent. They only confess to the false claims to end the torture so none of this information should be used. Even if they were evil, they are still human beings and torture can't be justified under any circumstance. The documentary presented the information in and interesting and unbiased nature.

Attorneys for terrorists? You gotta be kidding! These people think nothing of whacking off the head of civilians and military personal. They do not deserve the treatment required by the Geneva Convention. When they start treating our people decently, then maybe I'll change my outlook. Not before. This film was certainly slanted and one sided.
